Last September a client of my firm, who is from a small town in southern Georgia, asked if he could send his son up to Canada for a visit. Since he was an important customer I readily agreed.

Ref.... although hilarious.... I have concerns about your post. I can only imagine the amount of eggnog you must have ingested prior to writing that "masterpiece". If you continue abusing holiday beverages at your current rate, you'll need a liver transplant by New Years.

A few errors:
1. Being from Georgia, I assure you that this tale would be much more believable had you substituted Alabama or Mississippi. (For you Canadians, they are the equivalent of Newfoundland).

2. You neglected the most obvious southern slang, such as "reckon", "fixin'", "might could", "y'all" and the plural form "all y'all". (This would be like Billy telling his pa about his trip to Canada without referencing hockey, loonies, touques, funny coloured money, kilometers or "eh").

And for the record, Billy is not a distant relative even if we do share a nickname and a state.
