4 weeks Post Disectomy & Laminectomy - Car Advice Please

In new to here so hi

I had a laminectomy and a discectomy of L4/5 & L5S1 4 weeks ago. The operation has been a success and I must say that it is the best thing I have ever had done, it has changed my life.

I need some advice or shared experience on driving please. I currently have a 58plate vectra (Co Car) and drive between 3000-4000 miles per month. My current car is not suitable as it is simply too low and thye driving position on the car is very poor.

Im now working with my employer to find a more suitable car and wondered if anyone on here can recommend any vehicles that may be more suitable. Previous to this Vectra I had a Freelander and had no problems with driving, but it is unlikely that I will get a 4x4 as a co car.

I have the same affected spinal areas and find MPV's such as Renault Scenics, Vauxhall Zafiras and Kia Carens etc: to be great, because the seats are higher & flater and you can therefore slide in and out without much effort. The only negative point is, that if you are a 'fast driver' you will experience a lot of 'car body roll' in these vehicles, If you are, you will have to change your driving style if you are to benefit from this change of vehicle. Any standard saloon car will usually have low or sporty type seating which causes the problems you are having, so steer clear them and go for a day out with your family and road test all 'allowable' MPV's.

Try a Picasso - I don't drive myself but I find most car's uncomfortable to travel in. Luckily my partner loves them so hence we are about to pick up another one later this week
