OAKLAND COUNTY, MI – Two women are accused of human trafficking, including forcing victims to work 12-hour days, seven days a week providing “sexual services” to clients at massage parlors in Metro Detroit, officials announced.
Runping “Lisa” Huang and Chunxiu “Eva” Xu are both facing multiple human trafficking charges related to alleged sexual services provided at two Metro Detroit massage parlors, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
“For too long human trafficking festered in the shadows of our communities while victims were fearful of being treated like criminals,” said Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “Law enforcement is working together to attack this problem with unprecedented urgency. We will keep fighting to hold traffickers accountable and free victims.”
Responding to a confidential tip, authorities investigated several massage parlors operated by the defendants, officials said.
Victims reported they were ordered to provide sexual services and made to work 12-hour days, seven days a week, officials said. The victims do not speak English, had no access to transportation and, allegedly, were forced to give their earnings to Huang.
Police from Novi, West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills, and Shelby Township assisted in the apprehension of defendants.
Huang is charged with human trafficking enterprise, forced labor; human trafficking enterprise, commercial sexual activity; prostitution, accepting earnings; and transporting person for purpose of prostitution. Xu is charged with human trafficking enterprise, forced labor; and transporting person for purpose of prostitution.
Both defendants were arraigned over the weekend. Huang’s bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety. Xu’s is set at $150,000 cash or surety.
This case is a part of a broad effort to eliminate human trafficking in Oakland County, holding traffickers accountable. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office Trafficking Unit and the Human Trafficking Task Force work together across jurisdictions to coordinate investigations and prosecutions of high-level traffickers. Since November 2024, 27 cases have been brought against human traffickers in the county.
